I just want to make one comment. Today is a great day and this is the good ole days right now. The people, who are absent in our lives today, are the one thing I believe that make the days gone by --- "The Good Ole Days"
Here is a post from the good Ole days.. This is my Uncle Lee's one room home, where there was no running water, and it was heated by a pot bellied wood and coal stove at the center of the room with the stove pipe taking at least one unnecessary turn before leaving to the outside. That helped trap more heat in really cold weather inside the shack.
Uncle Lee lived in this "shack" for at least 10 years. He spent his leisure time chopping wood for the winter, caring for his garden, entertaining his nephews and neices who would sometimes visit. I have no idea where he made his homemade beer and wine. I have no idea how he kept his food from spoiling. He had electricity, but I never saw a refrigerator. He served in World War II but never talked about his military service. He was quiet and well liked by everyone who knew him. I loved him while he was alive and miss him now that he's gone.
