it's a *girl thing*...the love of carbs...
lipgloss & carbs...& my day is off to a perfect start!
sometimes, beyond the lipgloss & carbs, i wonder what kind of gal i am...
you know...there's the classic working gal, the fashionista, the beach babe, the country gal, the vintage-rock-chick...
they list *types* of gals in magazines all the time...
i've never really put myself into one pile or another...
i'm the one who is in the other list...the complicated...everyday-is-a-new-day-list...
i'm like this is all facets of my life...fashion, our house, books...
all are an eclectic mix that seems to work...
i like to call it boho...
even though i know it's absolutely not...kate hudson is boho...sienna miller is boho...
but just sometimes i like to pretend i'm in that boho list too....
so with all my linen french stripes & vintage florals...
my giant glittering disco balls & streams of lights...
my beach-life white throws on the sofa's & my wooden floor boards...
i also love a big dose of the industrial...
i totally love a pretty old chandelier...but i'd rather an industrial inspired one...
& yep it took all my husbands physical strength to stop me taking this one outa the ceiling & stashing it into the back of the people mover...
{& look at that wall paper- it was all the way up those stairs...i tell you...could.hardly.bare.it!}
it's the *boho* in me...tee hee!!
my dad is one of those dads...you know the ones that make amazing lights out of old brocante signage letters picked up in his travels....
he seriously can re-work anything he comes across from the hardware store to the junk yard & i want it all...
i covet the things he creates...hell my husband covets the things he creates...
we once needed a really large coffee table for the three kiddos & i couldn't find one anywhere...
my dad bought a big old art desk...complete with drawers...
cut the legs down and painted them white...
sanded the top off & delivered it to my house on the beaches....
ready-to-go!!
it looked incredible & it sorted my dilhemma...we adore that big old art-desk-coffee-table...
so it is my dad that i thank for my boho-ness...
vintage flowers & industrial grey...disco balls & linen...
...right up there with lipgloss & carbs....
