Charles Roger Hargreaves (9 May 1935 – 11 September 1988)
Mr. Hargreaves was a British author and illustrator of children's books, notably the Mr. Men and Little Miss series, intended for very young readers is being honored today by Google. Today would have been Mr. Hargreaves' 76th birthday.
Mr. Hargreaves' ambition was to be a cartoonist and his 1st character, Mr. Tickle was created in 1971. It is said that Mr. Tickle was inspired by his son who asked Mr. Hargreaves what a tickle looked like. Mr. Hargreaves created Mr. Tickle who was an orange round body with long rubbery arms and a constant smile.
