Choose a theme and colour scheme which compliments your décor and your interior design style.<br /><br />2. Try not to over complicate things and opt for quality over quantity. <br /><br />3. Decide which room or rooms you're going to spruce up and which ones don't need any real attention.<br /><br />4. Focus on the room where your tree is going to be placed as this is the room that people will gravitate towards.<br /><br />5. Don't forget 1st impressions count so try not to neglect your front door, entrance and hall.<br /><br />6. Think of new and innovative ways to make your decorations stand out from the crowd.<br /><br />7. Be realistic! There's no point in having a tree so large that nobody can sit down. If you want a large tree consider an alternative place for it such as the hallway or dining room.<br /><br />8. If you have small rooms look for trendy alternatives to a tree.<br /><br />9. If you really want a specific colour and it doesn't coordinate with your soft furnishings use <a href="http://www.terrysfabrics.co.uk/cat/rugs/">cheap rugs</a>, cushions and throws to temporarily change your colour scheme.<br /><br />10. Stripped floorboards look brilliant in many homes, as do stone and tiled floors, however, when it comes to winter they types of flooring at be cold on the feet.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0cm">An inexpensive and on-trend way to deal with this issue to use <a href="http://www.terrysfabrics.co.uk/cat/rugs/large/">large rugs</a>. They'll help your feet stay warm and are (in my opinion) far easier to keep clean than fitted carpets. I have to admit that once I read about how many bugs, the amount of dirt and grime which fitted carpets harbour I no longer have fitted carpets and I don't recommend them to anyone.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0cm">I do use cheap rugs in most rooms. They're a great way to add colour and different textures. It's also a good idea to have rugs for the different seasons. Keep the darker colours for winter as they show less marks and use paler shades to give rooms an instant lift and pick-me-up in spring and summer.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0cm">We can't all afford, nor have the time to redecorate every year, yet if you change your curtains and add floor rugs you can give your home a new dimension at least twice a year – it's also a great way of keeping your home topped-up with the latest interior design trends and colours.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0cm">Image: Decorology</p>

We all look for ways to save money and get the best deals along with retaining a stylish home interior. There are little things that you can do to brighten your home and help you save money.<br /><br />For example, if you have stripped floorboards then the chances are you'll feel a cold draught coming through the gaps, more especially if your home has an unused cellar under the room. Use a couple of cheap rugs to help reduce the draughts, particularly in front of sofas and chairs to help prevent your feet from getting cold.<br /><br />You could also use rugs or a foot-stool to get your feet off of stone flooring. Within this 're-balancing' trend the emphasis is on simple structures and soft natural materials such as wool.<br /><br />The keywords for spring and summer are Soften, Energize and Excite. As we saw in my last post colours are predominantly ash grey or black with vibrant injections of bright colour. These colours are being described by words such as airy, waxy and silky. The materials and fabric you choose for your soft furnishings will embrace these keywords so look for curtain materials online such as voile, silk, wool and organza. The natural materials such as wool can be used with beautifully designed floor <a href="http://www.terrysfabrics.co.uk/cat/rugs/">rugs</a> which will also help to ground your chosen colours.<br /><br />When trying to re-balance the environmental issues regarding new products we'll need to consider energy consumption, disposal, waste materials and renewable fibres.
